Welcome to Shuunnya.org, a digital ecosystem for learning, reflection, and conscious living. By accessing or using our website, mobile app, or related services (collectively referred to as "the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service.

Please read them carefully before using Shuunnya.

1. Eligibility & Account Responsibilities

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required by law in your country, to create an account and access our services.
You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration and to keep it current.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, including your username, password, and account recovery codes. All activity under your account is your responsibility.
You must not share your account or recovery codes with others. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, misuse the Platform, or violate our policies.

2. Use of Services

Shuunnya.org provides an integrated experience that includes:

Educational courses and learning tools across various subjects, with progress tracking, quizzes, and certificates
Community and social features including member profiles, statuses, forums, member directory, and community matching
Messaging and communication via ShuunnyaEcho (our Messenger), including private messaging, audio and video calls, and real-time presence
Productivity and wellness tools including journals, to-do lists, project management, habit tracking, weekly reviews, timers, meditation space, diet planning, and nutrition tracking
Financial utilities including budget tracker, finance manager, tax manager, and various calculators (EMI, SIP, FD, currency converter, unit converter)
Workspace tools including ShuunnyaNotes and ShuunnyaTables
AI assistant (ShuunnyaAI) for learning support and reflection
Curated product recommendations (CuratedVault) with links to external retailers

Features and services may be added, modified, or discontinued over time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

You agree to:

Use these services only for lawful, ethical, and personal (non-commercial) purposes.
Not attempt to gain unauthorized access, interfere with, or disrupt the operation of the Platform or its data.
Not upload, distribute, or post malicious, deceptive, or infringing material.
Not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Platform without our prior written consent.
Not circumvent or attempt to bypass security measures, rate limits, or access controls.

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or legal action.

3. Community Guidelines

We believe in respect, responsibility, and awareness. To maintain a safe and supportive environment:

Treat all members with respect and dignity in all interactions, including public posts, forum discussions, and private messages.
Do not post or transmit content that is harmful, abusive, threatening, defamatory, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or illegal.
Do not impersonate others or misrepresent your identity.
Do not spam, repeatedly post promotional content, or engage in any form of unsolicited solicitation.
Do not harass, stalk, or send unwanted messages to other members.
Use the Report or Block tools for any unsafe or inappropriate activity.

Content that violates these guidelines may be removed without notice, and users may face account restrictions or permanent termination.

4. Messaging & Real-Time Communication

ShuunnyaEcho, our Messenger service, enables private messaging and audio/video calls between members. When using these features:

All community guidelines apply equally to private communications.
Messages and shared media are stored securely to enable synchronization across your devices and sessions.
Audio and video calls are facilitated through the Platform. We do not record the content of your calls.
Features such as typing indicators, read receipts, and online presence may be visible to your conversation partners.
You may not record or redistribute private conversations or calls without the consent of all participants.
Abuse in private messages (harassment, threats, unsolicited explicit content) is grounds for immediate account action, including suspension.

5. Forums

Our forum system enables community discussions organized by categories and topics. When participating:

Post in the appropriate category and stay on topic.
Respect differing opinions and engage in constructive dialogue.
Do not create duplicate topics or cross-post the same content across multiple categories.
Moderators may edit, move, lock, or remove content that violates these Terms or community guidelines.
Votes, bookmarks, and other forum interactions are recorded to improve content ranking and your experience.
Forum contributions may remain visible in anonymized form even after account deletion, to preserve the integrity of community discussions.

6. User Content & License

Messages, posts, documents, and other content you create or share on Shuunnya remain yours. However, by sharing content on the Platform, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

Host, store, and process your content to operate and deliver Platform services
Display your public content (such as forum posts and statuses) to other members as intended by you
Create backups and maintain system integrity

This license exists solely for the purpose of operating the Platform and ends when you delete your content or account, except for content that has been shared in public community spaces (which may be retained in anonymized form).

Content stored in your personal tools (journals, notes, tables, trackers) is private to you and is not shared with other members or used by us for any purpose beyond providing the service.

Private communications remain confidential and are not accessed except in cases involving abuse reports, safety concerns, or legal obligations.

7. Ephemeral Content

Certain content types on the Platform, such as statuses, are ephemeral and automatically removed after a set period (e.g., 24 hours). Once ephemeral content expires, it is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. You should not rely on the Platform for permanent storage of ephemeral content.

8. Educational & Proprietary Content

All materials available through Shuunnya, including text, images, videos, course content, modules, trackers, tools, and AI features, are for personal educational use only.
You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, or sell any portion of our content or tools without prior written consent.
Certificates issued through the Platform are for personal use and represent completion of coursework on Shuunnya. They do not constitute accredited credentials unless explicitly stated.
All trademarks, designs, and intellectual property belong to Shuunnya or its licensors.

Unauthorized use of Shuunnya's materials or branding may lead to legal consequences.

9. AI, Tools, and Automated Features

ShuunnyaAI and related automation tools are designed to assist learning, reflection, and personal growth.

Conversations with the AI are stored securely. You can delete your conversation history at any time.
AI responses are generated automatically by machine learning models. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate.
AI output does not constitute professional advice of any kind (medical, legal, financial, psychological, or otherwise). Always consult qualified professionals for important decisions.
Shuunnya is not responsible for actions taken based on AI-generated content.
You must not use the AI to generate harmful, illegal, abusive, or misleading content.
We do not use your personal data to train AI models.

10. Financial & Health Tools Disclaimer

Shuunnya provides various financial calculators, budget trackers, diet planners, and health-related tools for personal informational purposes only.

These tools are not a substitute for professional financial, tax, medical, or dietary advice.
Calculations and suggestions are approximate and should be verified independently.
We are not responsible for decisions made based on data from these tools.
Data entered into these tools is stored securely and accessible only to you.

11. Mobile App

The Shuunnya mobile app provides access to the same Platform features available on the website. By using the app:

All these Terms apply equally to your use of the mobile app.
You may enable push notifications to receive alerts and updates. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.
The app requires an internet connection to function. We are not responsible for connectivity issues on your device or network.
App availability and features may vary by platform (Android, iOS) and may be updated or discontinued.

12. Third-Party Links & External Services

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, including affiliate product listings and external resources.

We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party website.
Clicking on an external link does not share your Shuunnya account information with the third party.
Any transactions you conduct with third-party retailers are solely between you and that retailer.
Review the terms and privacy policies of external sites before engaging with them.

13. Data Privacy & Security

Your privacy is important to us. Our data collection and handling practices are detailed in the Privacy Policy.

In brief:

We use encryption, access controls, and audit logging to protect your data.
We do not sell user information.
We access user data only for technical, moderation, or legal reasons, as logged and auditable events.
You have the right to export your data, manage your privacy settings, and delete your account as described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Child Safety

We uphold a strict zero-tolerance policy for child exploitation or abuse. Our Child Safety Policy details:

Minimum age requirements (13+)
In-app reporting mechanisms
Moderation and escalation procedures
Cooperation with law enforcement in case of CSAE/CSAM violations

Users violating these standards will face immediate suspension and reporting to relevant authorities.

15. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Shuunnya.org provides its content and services "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free performance, or accuracy of content.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shuunnya.org is not liable for:

Loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from use of the Platform
Content or conduct of other members
Third-party links, services, or integrations accessed through the Platform
Decisions made based on AI-generated content, financial calculations, or health-related tools
Interruptions, delays, or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control

You agree to use the Platform at your own discretion and risk.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Shuunnya, its owner, affiliates, and service providers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

Your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms
Content you post, upload, or share on the Platform
Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
Your violation of any applicable law or regulation

17. Account Termination & Deletion

Termination by Shuunnya: We may suspend or terminate your account or restrict access if:

You violate these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or applicable laws.
You misuse the Platform, engage in fraud, or threaten the safety of others.
Your account has been inactive for an extended period (we will notify you before taking action).

Deletion by You: You may request deletion of your account at any time.

There is a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel the deletion request and recover your account.
After the grace period, your personal data will be anonymized or permanently deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
Content contributed to shared community spaces (such as forum posts) may be retained in anonymized form.

18. Modifications

We may revise these Terms periodically to reflect service updates, policy changes, or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.

If changes are significant, we will notify you through the Platform or via other appropriate means.

Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you should discontinue use of the Platform.

19. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.

In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to first contact us at shubham@shuunnya.org to seek an informal resolution. If the matter cannot be resolved informally, any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Delhi, India.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
